With Memory Foam It’s Not Just Teenagers Who Will Stay In Bed All Day

My mother told me yesterday that I looked tired.  Gee, thank for the compliment.  Are you getting that too?  Oh to be young again and waste the day away in bed.  There’s something that happens to your body when you get older.  It sets an internal clock.  No matter how much I used to plan on sleeping late, or would even schedule an off day to sleep in, my internal clock would wake me up at the same time – everyday!  That is until I got a new mattress.

Time for a Change

The time had come for a change.  I am getting older and my bones creak and my muscles ache more and more each day.  It’s not good to get up feeling like you’ve run a marathon during the night because you’re too sore to move in the mornings.  So finding a new mattress was vital to my mental health!

Have you ever visited a mattress store?  It makes me sleepy just walking in.  But the fun begins.  You actually have permission to bounce from bed to bed and try out the mattresses.  It’s awesome!  After a while they begin to feel pretty much the same and you begin to wonder why this fluff is more expensive than that fluff because they’re just about identical.

This is the One

But then I plopped down on a Memory Foam mattress.  I say plopped because I think I literally made a plopping sound when I threw my weight behind it.  Memory Foam doesn’t bounce, you know.  Instead, you sink down into this firm marshmallow surface.  It was like nothing else in the store.  Until this moment, I had bounced from bed to bed on my bottom.  But the moment I hit that Memory Foam, I had to lie back and soak it in.  I remember telling my husband, “This is the one.”

Honestly, we only went into that store on a fluke.  We had a fairly new, and expensive fluff and coil mattress at home.  Once I soaked into that foam, I was hooked.

Luckily, we were able to negotiate a good deal and had it delivered the next day.  But then something weird happened.  My internal clock seemed to stop working.  The next morning I ignored my alarm clock and was almost late for church!  Heaven help me!

Internal Clock Reset

I thought I was simply overly tired, but then that night I realized that I was excited to go to bed.  So much so, I tried talking my hubby into bringing the television into the bedroom.  We used to have enough distractions from sleep so the TV isn’t allowed.

Then that Monday, I woke up feeling rested without pain or feeling like I had run all night long.  It finally dawned on me that our new Memory Foam mattress was doing its job!  Imagine that!

So, I’ve started setting two alarm clocks so I won’t miss work and school.  I thought the days of being a teenager spending all day in bed were long gone, but maybe I was wrong.  Memory Foam made it happen.
